Emily Irene VanCamp originally wanted to be professional dancer. But, while watching her sister Katie on the Ladies Room movie set, Emily was captivated by acting. Her acting career began when she enrolled in classes. She also got guest spots on shows from her native Canada. Some of the TV series she starred in include Are You afraid to be in the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp experienced career breakthrough following his appearance as main character Sam Dolan on the WB Horror Mystery show Glory Days. Even although the show had received excellent reviews, it was cancelled after only 9 episodes due to the low ratings. The May 12th, 1986 actress quickly secured another part in Everwood. Her character Amy Abbott is one of the main characters. For this part, it was that she received nominations from the Young Artist Award, and as well as the four Teen Choice Awards.
